Japan is honored by the Scientific Committee of i-CIPEC to host the 9th i-CIPEC in Kyoto during 21-23th Sep., 2016. The Conference will be jointly organized by Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, the Agency for Health, Safety and Environment, Kyoto University.
Initially the focus of attention of the i-CIPEC series of conferences was the thermal conversion of municipal and industrial solid wastes. However due to the increasing importance of alternative energy in substituting rapidly depleting fossil fuels and in reducing CO2 emissions, the i-CIPEC Conferences these days also cover energy saving technologies in plants using fossil fuels and biomass conversion technologies.
Despite the expanded scope, the core technologies involved remain unchanged, namely combustion, incineration, pyrolysis and gasification.
These issues that need to be addressed, however, are becoming more and more complex, covering not only the more traditional concerns of resource efficiency and emission control, but also life cycle impacts, climate change, energy security, and sustainability. These and other related issues will be discussed at this 2-day conference.
In addition, a pre-conference workshop on “Challenges in Mercury Waste Treatment/Disposal” is also scheduled on 20th September, 2016. And as part of this Conference, an exhibition will be staged, offering companies and organizations an opportunity to publicize their products and services. A technical tour will also be offered.
This conference is aimed at providing an international forum for participants from academia, industry and government agencies, to report on research and development results, to interact, and to identify opportunities for cooperation in the fields of combustion, incineration, pyrolysis, emission control as well as climate change. It will also host contributions on non-thermal treatment techniques (mechanical, biochemical, chemical), thus closing the loop on the residues of all human activities.
During this conference, you will get a chance to share your research experience with many international scientists and engineers.
