Call for Paper and Submission

Post-Conference Special Issue of Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management (JMCWM) on Waste to Renewable Energy of the 9th i-CIPEC.

We are pleased to invite you to submit a manuscript for Post-Conference Special Issue of Journal of Material Cycles and Waste Management (JMCWM) on Waste to Renewable Energy of the 9th i-CIPEC. Waste to Renewable Energy concept has wide points of discussion, but this special issue covers the topics such as energy conversion from biomass waste and power generation from MSW and GHG reduction measures in the related areas.

The first issue of the journal, JMCWM was published at the end of October, 1999, and the recent issue, Vol.18, No.4 was published in this September 2016. At the beginning we started to publish biannual English journal, and from Vol.11 it became quarterly. In 2012 JMCWM was obtained IF: 0.717 in 2011, 0.568 in 2012, 0.831 in 2013, 0.950 in 2015 and 1.422 in 2015 by Journal Citation Reports by Thomson Reuters.

The submitted manuscripts should not be the ones published in the proceedings of the 9th i-CIPEC 2016. And all manuscripts for the Waste to Renewable Energy of 9th i-CIPEC special issue of JMCWM will be subject to follow standard rules and review process for peer reviewed papers; including the review of each manuscript by at least two international experts. The deadline for paper submission is December 31, 2016 with no extensions. The accepted papers will be published at the beginning of 2018 (No.1, Volume 20).

There will be no page charge for the Waste to Renewable Energy of 9th i-CIPEC special issue of JMCWM. Color illustrations will be accepted; however the author will be expected to make a contribution to the extra cost.

Full Paper Submission

The template for the full paper can be found here (docx, 44kB).

The manuscript should be prepared in such a way that it is suitable for direct photo reproduction. Please follow the instructions to ensure uniformity in the appearance of the papers in the 9th i-CIPEC Proceedings (USB-memory). The manuscript must be submitted as a PDF file via https://amarys-jtb.jp/i-cipec/ using the on-line submission system. Please note that incorrectly prepared manuscripts will not be published. Only an abstract submitter who has already received the “acceptance notification” can upload the PDF file for the full paper. Please prepare your ID and password.

You should use the full paper format for the 9th i-CIPEC. The deadline for full paper submission is August 15, 2016.

Software

The manuscript must be submitted as a PDF document. The paper must be converted into a single PDF-file (Adobe Acrobat), including text, tables, and figures, with particular attention paid to minimizing and optimizing the graphics. The file size should not exceed 10 MB.

Size

The entire paper should be at least four pages, including the title, authors, abstract, body text, figures, and tables (left margin: 2.3 cm; right margin: 2.3 cm; top margin: 2.5 cm; bottom margin: 2.5 cm). JUSTIFY the text throughout, if possible.

Typing

  • All papers must be typed in English.
  • The text, including figures and tables, should be typed in BLACK.
  • The text should be typed using “TIMES NEW ROMAN”, font size 11, or a similar font.
  • The lines should be single-spaced.
  • The text must be original and clear for reproduction use.
  • Do not leave extra space between paragraphs.

Title

  • Type the exact title of the paper in upper and lowercase using 18 point typeface.
  • The title should be centered.

Authors

  • Type the author name(s) in the order of first, middle, and last names, using a 12 point plain typeface and place an asterisk (*) after the corresponding author’s name.
  • Use superscript Arabic numbers after the last name(s) to indicate author affiliations. The list of author(s) should be centered.

Structure

Each manuscript should include:
Title and Authors
ABSTRACT

  1. INTRODUCTION
  2. MATERIALS AND METHODS
  3. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
  4. CONCLUSIONS, ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS, AND REFERENCES

Abstract

  • Center and bold ABSTRACT heading.
  • Try to keep the abstract within 300 words. Do not include references or equations in the abstract.

Headings

Main Heading: Headings for all sections should be bold and numbered. The main heading should be in UPPERCASE and have a one-line space above and below it.

Secondary Heading: The subheadings, which can be numbered, should start from the left margin. A secondary heading should use the uppercase only for the first letter of each word and have a one-line space above it, but no space below it.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively. Place the table title above the table, and the figure caption below the figure. Allow a one-line space between the table or figures and the adjacent text.

Equations

All equations must be typed clearly and numbered consecutively. All equations should be centered and have a one-line space between the equations and text. Displayed equations should be numbered as (1), (2)… The numbers should appear at the extreme right of the line in parentheses. Refer to equations in the text as Eq. (1).

References

References should be numbered consecutively and be listed at the end of the paper. Style the references list based on the following examples. List all of the authors and do not use “et al.” The name of the journal, book, or proceeding should be written in italics. Omit the title of the paper. Abbreviate journal titles according to standard forms.

Those who wish to submit a paper are required to submit the abstract by May 15, 2016May 31, 2016.
Please follow the instructions for the submission of Abstracts.
If your manuscript has been accepted as a pre-peer review paper by JMCWM, you do not need to submit abstracts from this system.
Registration and accommodation reservation system will open soon.

Regular paper:

An abstract in English should be submitted no later than May 1, 2016May 31, 2016.
The submitted abstract will be subject to peer review for originality, technical content, objectivity, and absence of commercialism.

Notification of acceptance will be delivered on June 15, 2016. The author(s) whose abstracts are accepted must submit the full-length paper, either for oral or poster presentation, by Aug. 15, 2016. Those authors who fail to meet all of the announced deadlines and requirements will not be allowed to present their papers at the conference and the papers will not be included in the conference proceedings. Authors wishing to submit an abstract should read the following instructions carefully and send it by the online submission system at: www.i-cipec.jp.

The abstract should be less than 2 pages (in MS word), spaced at 1.5 lines, mostly typed in Times New Roman 12 point, and in English, and should include:

  • Applicable category: A-H as indicated in “Major Topics”
  • Full title of the paper
  • Full name and address (postal address, Tel, FAX, and e-mail) of the corresponding author
  • Full name of each author and co-author, and respective aliation
  • Rational and objective of the work
  • Approach and methodology
  • Results and discussion
  • Conclusion

Only contributions complying with these specifications will be considered for peer review.
